  • Biography

    Sallyanne Holtz received a Bachelor of Science degree in English from the University of Rio Grande, Ohio; she received a Master’s degree in Journalism from Ohio University.

    Ms. Holtz has been teaching English, Communication, and Journalism in and around San Antonio for more than 10 years. She has 20 years of experience as a journalist, having working at a variety of newspapers throughout the United States. Her work has been published in numerous newspapers and magazines nationwide.

    Most recently, she was an English Language Arts trainer/content specialist with Harcourt Assessment Inc., San Antonio, where she worked to refine the content and scoring materials for standardized tests. While at Harcourt, she also conducted writing and scoring workshops in house and around the country. She has her own freelance writing business and, time permitting, contributes to local publications.

    Ms. Holtz is at work on Texas Pink, a book about women writers in Texas. She is a member of the San Antonio chapter of the United Federation of Doll Clubs and the San Antonio Professional Journalists, among others.
