Dale is originally from DeFuniak Spring, Florida. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1958. He received his B.A. degree in 1972 in Police Science and Administration from California State University at Sacramento. After receiving his degree he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant. Dale received his M.A. in Communication with emphasis on Human Relations in 1979 from The University of Northern Colorado. In 1982 he retired from the Air Force.

Dr. Sara DeTurk, Graduate Advisor of Record (GAR), received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia and her M.Ed. in International Education from the University of Massachusetts. She received her Ph.D. in Communication from Arizona State University in 2004, with a focus on Intercultural Communication. Her research is qualitative in nature and addresses the role of communication in perpetuating and challenging ethnocentrism.

Skip Eno

Eno has been Director of Forensics and Debate Coach since 1982. His background is diverse. He debated in high school, in Colorado, Missouri and Wyoming, and he debated occasionally at the University of North Dakota where he was member of the gymnastics team in the 60’s. He rediscovered debate at UTSA where he worked hard to adapt to speed and the inclusion of critical theory in debate, both foreign to his experience.

Dr. Viviana Rojas

Viviana Rojas is an associate professor at the Department of Communication. She taught at the Universidad de Chile and Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago, Chile, before coming to The University of Texas at Austin to pursue a doctoral degree in journalism in 1997. She has been at The University of Texas San Antonio since 2002. Her teaching areas have centered on communication theory, intercultural and international communication. She has conducted research on Hispanic television, media and immigration, migrant families and new technologies and cultural adaptation of U.S. retirees in Mexico and the Philippines. She has published on the following journals: Communication Review, Ageing & Society, American Journal of Sexuality Education, International Migration and has written several book chapters on Latino audiences and minorities and digital inclusion.
