Thursday, November 1, 1990

Conference Directors:
Gail Whitchurch, Indiana University/Purdue University - Indianapolis
John Monsma, Northern Arizona University

This conference-workshop, sponsored by the newly formed Commission on Family Communication, is designed for both theoretical and applied scholars of family communication. The morning portion of the conference opens with an address by Kathleen Galvin, followed by competitively selected panels on theoretical issues and research. A luncheon, jointly sponsored by publishers and the commission, will feature displays of current books on family communication and an opportunity to meet the authors.

The afternoon session features a panel and discussion of pedagogical issues, an exchange of course syllabi, a round table seminar with theorists and researchers and a round table seminar with textbook authors on pedagogical issues. Arthur Bochner will present the concluding address for the conference.
