class policies
late submissions
I only allow assignments to be handed in late if the authors have asked for extensions. In that case, I set a new due date for the assignment and the author must hand it in by that date. Assignments handed in late without any prior notice will not be accepted.
plagiarism
The University defines plagiarism as "the appropriation, buying, receiving as a gift, or obtaining by any means another's work and the submission of it as one's own academic work offered for credit." This includes copying information from a Web site and pasting it into your own site without supplying attribution--in other words, passing that content off as your own writing. I don't mind your obtaining information from the Web (although, like any other instructor, I expect you to cite your sources); however, I expect you to put any information you obtain from the Web into your own words or to use quotation marks if you're using someone else's words. Anything else implies taking someone else's work and passing it off as your own. That's plagiarism, and it will be dealt with harshly.
