- Not made up of dots like color separations
- Halftone,
- A photograph that has been converted into halftone dots by scanning
- Photographs prepared for printing
- Duotone.
- Black-and-white photographs reproduced using two halftone negatives
- Usually printed in black ink plus one other ink color
